The Flying Ceilidh

Our new show for outdoor and indoor spaces, The Flying Ceilidh takes traditional ceilidh culture to new heights as live music, dance and community spirit blend with spectacular aerial performance in a vibrant experience for all ages.

Premiering at Findhorn Bay Arts Festival in October 2026, you will be able to find us in the incredible setting of Brodie Castle, by Forres on Saturday 3rd October.

Ceilidh, means ‘gathering’ in Gaelic, and our vision for the work is to bring people together through shared stories, aerial dance, and live music. Pulling inspiration from the moments of flight and lift that often happen in ceilidh dances, we turn that sensation into the real experience of flight through aerial spectacle.

Spectacle will also sit alongside our aim to reveal the more intimate side of a ceilidh, drawing on its roots in storytelling and human connection. Beginning like a traditional session round a kitchen table, the show unfolds and the ceilidh grows bigger, faster, and higher, sharing its energy and joy with the audience, as the performance turns into a full participatory ceilidh.

The concept of The Flying Ceilidh was initially developed by Marie Williamson and Imogen Michel, and it has been brought to life by All or Nothing, our ensemble and a fantastic creative team including designer Becky Minto, sound designer & musician Quee MacArthur, musician Evie Waddell and co-directed by Marie and Jen Paterson.

Performed by aerialists Chrissie Ardill, Rachael McIntyre, Zinnia Oberski and Tessa Stockwell

There will be special guest appearances from Moray Flying Circus and local musicians and dancers, as this unique event builds from captivating performance into a joyous shared celebration.
