Windows

Our new work is inspired by Avril Paton’s painting of a tenement block, Windows in the West, and stories such as Hitchcock’s Rear Window and Nan Goldin’s photography.  Windows is an exploration into glimpses of other peoples lives. The different lives that you might see through windows, the lights, stories and colours that radiate out from them.

Initial research and development took place in Summer 2023, supported by Creative Scotland‘s Open Fund, Macrobert Arts Centre and Community Circus Paisley. We are now back in the studio in 2026, developing Windows to production level with our Ensemble.

Windows is a new piece of aerial dance theatre for mid scale venues, with 4 performers.  As the story and relationships develop, the set comes alive with flying window frames and moving walls. The creative team developing the project are director Jennifer Paterson with designer Becky Minto, Composer Dave Boyd, Dramaturg Sandy Thomson, and Lighting Designer Kate Bonney.

Read more about the project in our blog post, Inside “Windows” and access our promotional brochure.

A big thank you to those who were part of the initial two week R&D stage for the project: performers, Christopher McAuley, Itxaso Moreno, Danuta Ramos, Beverley Grant, Chrissie Ardill and Freya Jeffs, and designer Zephyr Liddell.
