Over 40 young people from across Scotland came together on Saturday 22nd August 2026 for the second ever Scottish Youth Circus Exchange.

Supported by the National Centre of Circus Arts, the event took place at the Dunblane Centre in Dunblane, with the aim to bring young people that already take part in aerial and circus arts, to share, learn and create together.

Everyone warmed up together before being all mixed up into 4 groups to take part in 4 technique workshops: Dance Trapeze with Renato Dias, Aerial Silks with Grace Turner, Hula Hoop with Suzie Dent and Acrobatics led by Eric Munday. Everyone then came together again for a creative workshop where they worked with each other to create and perform from different inspirations led by Hania from Aerial Art House.

During lunchtime the young people also had a chance to ask questions about full time circus training and routes into circus as a career. Renato who trained at National Centre in London and Grace who trained at LIPA in Liverpool shared their experiences and answered lots of questions!

It was a fantastic day and brilliant to have everyone together. Huge thanks to Adventure Circus Aerial Art House, the workshop tutors, Sharisse, and Klara for helping to make it all happen.

We hope to help organise more of these, please do get in touch if you have a group of young people or a young person who would be interested.
